PONO so ONO T-Shirt (Kelly Green)
PONO is one of the most powerful and layered words in the Hawaiian language. It doesn’t just mean “righteous.” It speaks to living in right relationship—with yourself, your community, the land (ʻāina), and the divine (akua). It’s about integrity, balance, harmony, & justice. All rolled into one word.
The phrase “The PONO so ʻONO” was first dropped by Paniolo Prince in the final verse of See Clearly, a track he created alongside Queen Maile & Keith Cross. That lyric really resonated. In Hawaiian, PONO means "righteous" or "morally upright," while ʻONO means “delicious” or "tasty." So this lyric flips the script, reminding us that living righteously can feel & taste good.
We reached out to Paniolo Prince directly, shared the vision, & with his blessing, this design was born.
It’s simple. Bold. Rooted in culture. And full of mana.

Learn More – What is PONO?
Pono doesn’t translate cleanly into one English word because it’s much more than that.
It carries a spiritual, ethical, and cultural depth that represents:
-
Rightness, goodness, integrity
-
Moral, just, proper, worthwhile
-
Being in balance & harmony
In the Hawaiian worldview, pono describes the sacred balance between:
🙏🏼 Yourself
🙌🏼 Others
🌍 The ʻāina (land)
🌈 Spirit / The Divine (akua)
It’s the same spirit behind the Hawai‘i State Motto:
Ua Mau Ke Ea O Ka ʻĀina I Ka Pono
“The life (sovereignty) of the land is preserved through righteousness.”
That’s what we stand for. Eō ✊🏼
